Sean Driscoll Classical Guitarist Performs For Wedding at Palmetto Bluff, SC

It was an extraordinarily beautiful evening at Palmetto Bluff, SC last night.  I enjoyed so much performing for the Greenberg wedding party. They were very interesting and artistic bunch from Toronto, Canada. The Bride, Michele Maxson easily has won my “Years Best Wedding Gown Award!” I am going to try to get pictures this week.

I am excited to work on a shot there at Palmetto Bluff hopefully in next month. Incredible scenery and wonderful architecture make it a photographic wonderland. I have started a progressive video concert going to the most amazing wedding locations from around the Savannah, GA area. It has really been fun. Check out my recent video shot at Bethesda Boys. Watch for more videos over the next few months! I’ll post them here.

It was an Indian Jones wedding on remote Sapelo Island off the coast of South West GA. What an awesome adventure!

Guests hiked a single file bridge over intense swamps that led to a gorgeous Bamboo forest.

After the ceremony, everyone gathered at the Sapelo Island Mansion and ate and drank.

I was haunted by this place. It is the perfect set to shoot a horror film. I have made arrangements to return here to the bamboo forest to shoot classical guitar videos of select South American pieces that match the fauna and feel. I’ll post them as they become available.

I’ll be adding more animation this month with an Irish selection I am shooting. There is dancing Leprechaun in it who insists on dueling me to see who is faster. I hope to complete the animation before St. Patricks Day! It is a ton of work.

Sean Driscoll Classical Guitarist in Style Me Pretty Blog

Savannah’s classical guitarist, Sean Driscoll can be found in the national wedding blog “Style Me Pretty.”

It was a beautiful day for a wedding and Nick and Shalyn picked one of Savannah’s prettiest downtown locations, Washington Square , to tie the knot. In a quaint small area secluded from the normal Saturday crowds, the couple gave their vows and processed to the Pink House for further celcbrations. It was a joy to play for them and everyone was really quite glamourous! “Style Me Pretty” featured the wedding and ran wonderful photos. The photo above was from that series. Moon River Wedding - Savannah, GA - Sean Driscoll, Classical Guitar

I rarely get emotional at weddings but this one got me. I think it was because there was a true sense of sincerity that is rare today. Jennifer and Nathan wrote their own vows. In sharing one of the most intimate moments a couple may ever have, a window opened unveiling their inner most feelings for one another. And in those moments, I saw true compassion, love and a deep understanding of what it means to undertake the covenant of marriage. It is unusual for me to see couples enter into one of life’s grandest and challenging adventures (this union of marriage) with such open eyes and hearts. Jennifer was inspired by one of her childhood toys from the children’s story, “The Velveteen Rabbit.” I had never thought of it but the story is a wonderful parable for marriage. As she took us though the story she made it clear that the bond that this couple shared was for life and was earned though countless hours of play, holding and hugging.

I am also certain that it was the manner in which they choose to get married that made all the difference. With only the closest of family and friends there, the service and reception were held on the banks of Moon River at Jennifer’s parents house. Wow, what a view it was. (See pictures.) A gentle 80-degree breeze blew out of a blue sky dotted with marsh-mellow clouds making the weather picture perfect.

Speaking of pictures, the ones you’re finding here were taken by Russell Macdonald of Russell Macdonald Photography. It was a pleasure working with Russ. As you can see, Russ has a deep understanding of all things visual and he captured the afternoon perfectly. He is also is a guitar aficionado as were several others thus keeping me on my toes making sure I played my best.

Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to meet the florist but they did wonderful job with a large swag of white blossoms over the archway and table arrangements that really complemented the food. The garden style bouquets matched this garden wedding perfectly.

The food was catered by “Thrive” of Whitmarsh Island Savannah. Their organic fare was a delight. Jennifer and Nathan invited me to partake in the food and I thoroughly enjoyed the lamb, grilled vegetables, macaroni and cheese, and corn bread. All of their food is organic and grown by local farmers. You can really taste the difference. Wendy and Sarah are no doubt passionate about what they do and it really shows in their work.

All in all I couldn’t think of better way to spend a Saturday afternoon working. The simplicity and intimacy of the setting made for a wonderful wedding. Best of luck to you Nathan and Jennifer. I am sure you will do well in calm seas or storm. May the peace of Moon River always be with you.
